We wanted to shine a light on a problem often overlooked , the emotional toll storms take on pets. In Italy alone, more than three million dogs suffer from storm phobia, leaving both pets and owners anxious and helpless.

In partnership with ENPA, Italy’s largest animal protection NGO, we created CalmaZampa — the first Alexa skill designed to help dogs stay calm during storms. The idea combines real-time weather data, AI, and canine neuroscience to anticipate stress before it starts.

When a storm approaches, Alexa automatically plays playlists tuned to 432 Hz, a frequency proven to relax dogs, creating a sense of comfort and safety.
