Childhood memories 1 - The Cliff. (Digital download - 2042 x 2732 pix)

€19.00

This painting reflects a childhood memory of summer days by the sea near the Raouche Rock in Beirut. It was there, surrounded by friends, that I learned to swim – and where I almost drowned. We were young, probably too young to be exploring that far alone, but the pull of adventure was stronger than the rules.

The artwork captures the rocky cliffs and deep greens that framed those daring moments. The brushwork, loose and textured, mimics the way those days felt – raw, unpredictable, and full of life. Light and shadow dance along the edge of the rock, recalling the thrill and fear of standing at the edge, ready to jump into the unknown.

We weren’t supposed to be there, but we went anyway. This piece is a tribute to those reckless yet unforgettable moments of childhood, when friendship and curiosity carried us further than we should have gone – and somehow, made us feel invincible.
