Childhood memories 6 - The Crash. (Digital download - 2042 x 2732 pix)

€24.00

That summer trip to the mountains stayed with me for reasons none of us expected. My brother Wissam and I had been full of excitement, eager to see cousins we hadn’t met in years. When we arrived, everything felt new and electric. Wissam lit up when he saw Issam’s sleek blue car, gleaming in the afternoon sun.

This digital painting captures the quiet moment that followed. The earthy browns of the hillside and the lush greens of the tree bring to life that late summer afternoon. The loose brush strokes, inspired by oil painting techniques, mirror the stillness we both felt as Wissam sat beneath the tree, lost in thought. Light filters through the branches, softening the weight of the day.

After the crash, after the adrenaline faded, we both sat under that tree, letting the silence say what we couldn’t. This artwork holds that memory, a tribute to a brotherhood that often didn’t need words. The painting reflects the stillness and unspoken understanding that remains long after those moments pass.
